The Law in Schools Project is an exciting initiative based in Wellington and Auckland designed to educate Year 13 secondary school students about New Zealand's legal system.
With the help of volunteer tutors from Victoria University of Wellington, Auckland University, and Canterbury University we provide students with a basic introduction to the New Zealand legal system as well as other modules of their choice including: flatting, internet and electronic communication issues, consumer, family and employment law (with more to follow).
The Project was co-founded by Jane Standage (Barrister and Solicitor - LLB Hons) and Catherine Fleming (Barrister and Solicitor LLB Hons) in 2007 and commenced its pilot year in 2008. The current directors of the Project for 2010 are Natasha Caldwell (Barrister and Solicitor - LLB Hons/BA) and James Little (Barrister and Solicitor - LLB/BA).
